Conclusion

Bolivian immigrants arrived in Alexandria, Virginia in two major waves seeking economic opportunity. Immigration reform and various other legislation introduced by the United States government affected the Bolivian migration experience. However, the Bolivian immigrants have never lost their strong transnational connections and have various fluid spaces they engage in to display their culture within the United States. The Bolivian community in Northern Virginia continues to grow every year and they are becoming less invisible in the immigrant community as they share their culture with the public.
