Bolivians are one of the the largest Latino immigrant group in Alexandria, Virginia. When compared to the size of other immigrant groups, Bolivian immigrants are one of the smallest immigrant communities in Alexandria, Virginia. Even though the Bolivian immigrant community in Alexandria is small, they have arguably the strongest transnational connections to their home country. The Bolivian immigrant community in Alexandria, Virginia maintains strong transnational connections while simultaneously wanting to remain invisible immigrants. The 2010 census chart below represents the number of South American immigrants in Alexandria, Virginia. Bolivians were the largest South American immigrant group with 1, 227 people, which was 0.9% of the population living in Alexandria.
